I make sure each client is treated with the respect and the care they deserve ––this is at the heart of why I practice law.

Pat Reece | Why I Practice Law

Pat Reece Portland Personal Injury Lawyer

Helping people in need of legal help brings me great personal fulfillment.

For over thirteen years, I worked as a defense attorney for an insurance company. As a defense attorney, I had two clients: the insurance company and the individual being sued. Without exception, the most satisfaction I had was from representing the individual, because they found the legal process overwhelming. My other client, the insurance company, was only worried about the money they would have to pay, not about the people involved.

Personal injury litigation is a very complicated and adversarial system. My work as a defense attorney was essentially about saving the insurance company money — not about making things right. Over time I realized how important personal fulfillment at work was for me, so I started to look for a place that would bring greater meaning in my life.

This led me to Bridge City Law.

I learned a lot working for an insurance company.
Now I take that experience to help people in need.

After meeting with Dean, Jim and Roy, I realized I had found the place for me. From their individual philosophies to the firm’s mission of putting the needs of people who have been injured first, is exactly what I am seeking. I learned a lot working for the insurance company. Now I take that experience to help people in need — those who are injured and working through a traumatic event in their lives.

I work hard to make sure there is a positive outcome for each case, so my clients can move forward with their lives. I make sure each client is treated with the respect and the care they deserve–this is at the heart of why I practice law.

Team Work

Pat & Stephanie
Stephanie - Candid

Meet Stephanie

Stephanie has been part of the Bridge City Law legal team for nearly three decades and has assisted several of the attorneys in the office over the years. Her contribution to the firm, compassion and advocacy for our clients, exemplary paralegal skills, and case management are second to none.

Stephanie is exceptionally smart, detail-oriented (we call her eagle-eye), and dedicated to supporting our clients in recovering from their injuries, navigating the complexity of their personal injury claim, and pursuing the best possible outcome for their case.

Ensuring that our clients feel heard, respected, and valued is one of Stephanie’s core strengths. She is a problem-solver, a caring co-worker, a mentor for the other paralegal’s in the office, and someone you can always count on to not only get the work done but do so in a way that best supports our client’s cases.

It’s unusual to have an employee who is fiercely loyal after nearly 30 years. We know how fortunate the firm is and our clients are to have someone a part of our team with such valuable experience and who genuinely cares about the people she works with and the work she does.

Diligent and Thorough

“The best thing that happened to me with my Auto accident claim was Pat Reece. I was told by my previous attorney that I would be lucky to get $1 from my claim, if anything. Pat took over my case and changed everything. He actually listened and took the time to see that I was very mislead previously. He was diligent and thorough. Most importantly, we ended up winning the case and I was very satisfied with the settlement. He’s such a good guy, and in this stressful situation we still managed to laugh and goof around! Thank you so much Pat!!”
